This book is chock full of errors. I don't have any faith in the contents of this book. Color codes of wires are incorrect in troubleshooting areas, and there is poor coverage of all model years, especially newer ones. The book tells you what fault codes are but it does not tell you how to access them. I own two Hondas and I end up using the internet to get the information this book, more often than not, neglects to include. Purchase at your own risk -- it's too bad that it is the only book on the market for many Honda models.

If you have a Honda, and you know what is wrong, then this is the book for you. This manual gives you a step-by-step breakdown and rebuild of your car.But alas!there are no trouble-shooting sections anywhere in the book. There are no,"If it does that, then these may be the causes sections." This manual is definitely for the advanced mechanic with access to a machine shop.If you are a week-end mechanic who wants to diagnose and repair minor problems, then this is not the manual for you.I was disappointed.

This is a fair book. Deffinatly better than Hays. Where hays explanes things in one sentence Chilton uses an entire paragraph. However it does not contain all the diagnosis I wanted and it is plagued with misprints and occasionaly contridicts itself.

Chilton manuals are not known for being the most comprehensive on the block. Any manual that describes the re-assembly of a drive train as the opposite of dis-assembly is not professional grade at all times. That said, it is the "pro-consumer" book of choice regardless of which car it is covering.

We bought this addition for the Del Sol information, and while we know that the Del Sol and the Civic share a good deal of their build design, a few more photo's of the Del Sol and the location of it's parts would have been helpful.
Useful as car care manual, it will live on our shelf for the basic maintenance jobs like spark plug replacement, oil and belt changes, and things as audacious as replacing the radiator or brake system. Just about anything except for the drive train and wiring harness.

The book is a well put together repair manual covering virtually ever aspect of maintenance and repair. I, being an inexperienced mechanic, was still able to do many of the repairs. I did find the text a bit difficult when it came to figuring out what part they were referring to. The detail they gave was excellent with a diagram for all models. It is a must for any Honda Civic owner.
